MicroPulse Mattress Conversion Patient Support System

The ICU and Medical/Surgical floors - a source for pressure ulcers and patient complaints
Numerous studies have shown that more than one in 10 patients in U.S. hospitals has pressure ulcers at any point in time. Since the patients who develop pressure ulcers spend a majority of their stay in the ICU and on Medical Surgical floors, these are primary locations for prevention efforts. In addition, due to the immobility of many of these patients, discomfort is often a complaint.

The MicroPulse Mattress Conversion System
The system includes a controller and the MicroPulse surface (active MicroCell technology inside a fluid-proof cover). The OR table surface fits all operating room tables and is available in multiple sizes to accommodate most types of surgery. In addition, the surface is:
  • Only one-half inch tall - so side rail effectiveness is not compromised, and CPR does not require surface deflation
  • Comfortable - active MicroCell technology minimizes the discomfort caused by extended immobilization and pressure
  • Easily disinfected - requires minimal care
  • Lightweight - can be set up and moved by one person also available in a seating surface so patients can be protected from pressure ulcers while out of bed

Now you can improve patient outcomes with a product that is easy to use, simple to maintain and significantly lower in cost than specialty beds.

A continuum of care Beyond the ICU and Medical Surgical floors, the MicroPulse patient support system can extend to other high-risk populations where patient immobility is an issue. The system is also available for operating room tables and stretchers, so pressure ulcers can be cost-effectively prevented and patient discomfort reduced throughout the patient’s stay.
